Cholangiocarcinoma and Other Biliary Tract Tumours
Biliary Tract Tumours (BTC) include Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), Gallbladder Cancer (GBC) and Ampulllary (AMP) tumours.Â

BTC are a heterogeneous group of malignancies with unique clinical and molecular characteristics. Their agressiveness and poor prognosis make them a huge unmet need for the wide oncology community, highlithing the importance of basic and clinical researching joining efforts to improve awareness, understanding of the disease and treatment options. Close collaboration with patients is also paramount.Â
Â
The field has been rapidly changing for BTC, with better understanding of the molecular grounds of these malignancies. Despite this, diagnosis remains a challenge and late diagnosis is still the rule. In terms of therapy, chemotherapy has been the backbone of therapy for many years, with the recent incorporation of immunotherapy and targeted therapies. Role of radiotherapy and transplant in selected cases is also being considered. Â

Our aim is to join efforts accross multiple specialties to improve understanding and outcomes in BTC moving forward. JOIN US!
